Park Day CHANGE!

This Wednesday the 9th is a scheduled park day in Oak Glen.  However, it's going to be ten degrees colder there than in Beaumont so I've decided to switch it to DeForge Community Park: Located at Seneca Springs Park Way in Beaumont.  It still might get cancelled due to bad weather but I want to at least try!  I will post on Facebook Wednesday morning whether or not we are still on.  You can always call/text me if you don't have Facebook at 909/896-0809.  Hope to see you Wednesday at 10 am!

Live Oak Canyon Pumpkin Patch

I love to hear people from Southern California ask about this pumpkin patch. They say they have heard about it and they have been meaning to check it out. I like to shrug my shoulders and say as nonchalantly as possible, "Oh, it's nice. We go there every year." When in reality, I'm just tryin' to keep a lid on how cool this place really is!!! This past Wednesday was no exception. The Little Lambs visited the Pumpkin Patch!

Grab your strollers ladies! We are huntin' pumpkins!

We arrived en masse, ready to enjoy the crisp morning!

Our group jumped on the tractor ride around the farm where we had a "behind the scenes" view of a real-life working farm! Yee Haw!

After a wild ride around the farm we were seated for an informative lecture on the intricacies of pumpkin and all that it entails! Did you know that the stuff you find in a can of pumpkin at the store comes from something more along the lines of a GOURD? Shocking, I know!

The pumpkin lecture ended and we were ushered to the petting zoo. Our little lambs were able to play with some little goats. Almost everybody was thrilled to feed a goat, some decided to lick the goat.

Our final group event was picking out a pumpkin. In some families, this is very serious business!

The kids had a blast and the mom's got a chance to spend some time together!
It was an absolute success!

Pumpkin Patch Tour and Trunk or Treat

This Wednesday the 26th is our Pumpkin Patch Tour!  Our tour starts right at 10:40 so please make sure to be there by 10:30 so we are grouped together and ready to start!  The pumpkin patch is located off the Live Oak Canyon Road on Interstate 10.  If you have any problems finding it that day you can call me at 909/896-0809 but it's hard to miss!  I have already given our final head count but if you didn't pay and decided you want to go, please let me know and I'll see if they'll let me add more.

This Sunday the 30th is our trunk or treat festival from 11:30 - 1.  I still need everyone's pictures for the lamb's faces.  Please try to remember to give me Wednesday or mail them to me.  It needs to be a wallet size or a 4 x 6 where their face is no bigger then 1 1/4" as that's the size circle I'm using to cut them out.  See attached example to give you an idea of what it looks like.  I have Lorinda signed up to work the game from 11:30 - 12, Jo from 12 - 12:30 and me from 12:30 - 1.  If you'd still like to help out, let me know and I can reduce the times of those working to 20 minutes each so everyone has more time to spend with their families.

Looking forward to this week and all the fun holiday festivities!

Park Day at Yucaipa Community

Good Morning Ladies!

This Wednesday the 19th at 10:00 am is our park day at Yucaipa Community Park, 34900 Oak Glen Road in Yucaipa.  It's supposed to be 80 degrees out so should be a nice park day!  Bring your picnic lunch if you want to stay a while!  There are shaded picnic tables right next to the park.

Please remember to bring me a photo of your child for our car in the trunk or treat festival!  I'll need a wallet size or 4 x 6 picture of your child if you want their picture to be included. If you aren't able to come to the next few events, feel free to mail me your picture.  Address is listed below.

The following week on the 26th is the pumpkin patch tour at Live Oak Canyon.  PLEASE NOTE that tour will begin at 10:40, not at our regular time of 10:00 due to availability.  Please be there by 10:30 so that our group is ready to go.  The tour will last one hour and you can bring a picnic lunch if you want to eat in their picnic area. I also found out that I am responsible for payment even if people do not show up so for this outing I will need your payment in advance!  It's $7.00 per participant which includes parents.  If you have a baby that's not walking, they will not be charged.  I have to give them a final headcount four days before the event so if I do not have your money in hand by the 22nd you will not be able to participate.  That is THIS Saturday.  If you are not able to be there Wednesday and I don't see you during the week, you can drop off your money or mail it to me.  I will take cash or check.

My address is:
Lindsey Silvestrini
726 Stargazer St
Beaumont, CA 92223.

Hope you all have a great week and I will see you Wednesday!

Study 7 Avoiding the Vomit

This week we will be reviewing study 7 in our book "Avoiding the Vomit."  Lovely title isn't it?  For our discussion we'll be going over the questions on page 218.  I do have a few books left that are available for purchase for $9.00 so let me know if you still need one!  We will be meeting at my house at 726 Stargazer St, Beaumont at 10:00.  The kids will be babysat in a different room while we do our study but the babies are always welcome to stay with us if you aren't ready to leave them!

Our next outing is going to be the Pumpkin Patch Tour at Live Oak Canyon on the 26th.  I don't need a firm commitment but please let me know if you plan on attending so I can reserve the correct number of spots.  Just respond with yes, no or maybe and number of kids so I can at least get close to the correct count.  The cost is $7.00 per person for a one hour tour.  It includes a tractor pulled ride to tour the fields, hands on learning in discovery area, visit to the barn yard animals, selecting a pumpkin and playing on the giant castle.  You can also bring a picnic lunch and eat in the picnic area!  Check out details at http://liveoakcanyon.com/loc/pumpkins/pumpkins.htm.

We came up with a great idea for our car for Trunk or Treat!  We are going to have cutout lambs in a pasture and have our kids faces on each of the lambs.  Please bring a photo of your child to this weeks study or get to me in the next few weeks so that their picture can be included!  It can be just a small wallet sized picture or a normal 4 x 6 where their face is around the same size it would be in a wallet.  I'll also have sign ups if you are available to help run the game during the event.  There will be four half hour slots.  Those of us working on putting together the car are pooling our resources to cover the cost but if you aren't able to work on it but would still like to pitch in, you can donate money to help cover the cost.  I will put an envelope next to the sign up sheet.

I hope everyone is having a great week and I look forward to seeing you this Wednesday!

Wildwood Park

We packed our best sippy cups, and gathered together for an afternoon of kite flying and friendship. The weather was beautiful, and the kids had an absolute blast.

Krista and Ali watched as the kids worked to get their kites in the air!

Ethan spent a little time looking at a ladybug! Fortunately it flew away before Ethan made it an afternoon snack!

Brady wasn't ready to fly a kite, but he certainly enjoyed watching the other kids!

Paisley ran around the park laughing and making new friends.

Ethan spend a few moments really thinking about what he wanted to do next!

Krista helped Jayden and Reed successfully fly their kites!

It became very evident which kids liked the camera....

Jonathan wasn't quite ready to fly a kite, so he decided to just hang out and look absolutely adorable!

Krista and Brady staying cool in the shade.

Schivon and Liam had a great time together just mom and son!

Liam is such a sweet boy!

Jonathan and Sarah are so sweet!

Jayden really worked hard to get his kite in the air!

Samuel took a few minutes to cool down!

Reed was willing to run as long as he needed to get his kite in the air!

Rebekah and Caleb had fun at the playground!

Paisley cracked up at Jayden's jokes.

Paige and Samuel spent some time discussing politics.

Mason wasn't terribly interested in politics, but he enjoyed snacking on a hunk of the lawn.

Paige had an absolute blast with everybody!

Brady and Mason are both deep in thought.

After chasing a kite with Samuel, Lorinda enjoyed some time relaxing

Lindsey impressed the kids with her kite flying skills.

Landen discovered that sometimes a stick can be lots of fun!

Liam really warmed up to the camera!

Landen was a super star climber!

Ali was absolutely adorable!
